Ive got the coilies on the front wound down as far as i can as the tyres rub on the spring collar.
Im getting 5mm spacers so i can really get the front down, but only another inch or two because its just not practical any lower and the handling will be ruined!

Its a rolling project, i bought it 14 months ago with 35k on the clock and 2 owners from new. it had never been touched mechanically, not even an oil change! so its getting some TLC atm. saying that its on 47k now, it does get used!

I just dont have enough money to go all out on it at the moment, i want to get a bike again so thats the priority now!!

Could you not make the CS/SS yoke longer and in doing so make the links shorter therefore stiffer?

mine makes an uneven whirring noise all the time and occasionaly makes a sound very simmilar to what youve described.
it also grinds sometimes but then mysteriously sorts itself out .

High roller is good in dry to intermediate, i run a conti rain king up front which is an awesome tire in all conditions.
The advantaged (pictured here upfront) is utter trash on everything. stay away.

i would rather be paying the equivelent of £13 a year over 10 years and replacing the bar for free if it ever breaks because of flaws in the material or workmanhip than £45-£70 every two years for an aluminium bar each time it runs out of warranty.

if you dont check your stem bolts regularly anyway your asking for trouble!
the bolts on the syntace stem come with thread lock already applied and i have some on my thompson.

These come with a 10 year guarantee. show me an aluminium bar with anything close to that...

this surface prep, along with gripping compound applied to the stem reduces the required torque reducing the pressure on the bar and reducing liklihood of damaging the bar.
its common practice on road bikes and carbon seatposts.

its lighter because its got alot of light stuff on it!
forks are converted to solo air
theres a dura ace cassette on there, thomson post and stem are very light, front tyre is sub 800g
my wheels are pretty light too, mtx29 and DT5.1D on pro2

damn, you got 3.1lbs on me with a ti spring!
i need to spend moar moniez.
BTW aparantly with these park scales, if the rod inside the plastic downtube thing is touchin the sides (or an other object) it can give you false readings.
try hanging it from something at a better angle and see what you get
